The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has launched an upgraded version of its Ejari tenancy registration service, allowing tenants and landlords to handle every step of registering, renewing or cancelling a rental contract through a single platform, DubaiNow.
Under the enhanced service, users can register a new tenancy contract and receive an Ejari certificate instantly, renew or cancel existing contracts entirely online using UAE PASS digital identity verification, pay the security deposit required by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), and activate electricity and water services for the property at the same time as registering the lease.
Officials at the DLD said the integration between the Land Department, Dewa and Digital Dubai means tenants and landlords no longer need to register separately across multiple government platforms. The entire rental journey, from signing the contract to switching on utilities, can now be completed in a single digital flow.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of a busy start to the year for Dubai's rental market. Official figures show that in the first quarter of 2026, the emirate recorded Dh32.2 billion worth of rental contracts, comprising 118,385 new leases and 135,607 renewals.
DLD officials described the new one-stop service as part of Dubai's wider push to fully digitise government services and simplify daily life for residents. The goal, they said, is to cut the time and paperwork involved in one of the most frequent interactions residents have with government entities: renting a home.
